In the heart of Italy's silk industry, in Como, lies one of Europe's oldest silk mills, which today produces silk for Shibumi , among others. Founded in the mid-19th century, initially as a supplier of silk for furniture and clothing, the mill began producing silk for ties at the beginning of the 20th century, when this material took on its modern form. Many historic wooden looms, which have not been manufactured for decades, are still in operation today. Yet they are irreplaceable: our popular grenadine silk, for example, is woven on them. We cherish this heritage of Italian craftsmanship and are committed to preserving these traditions.
