Our Shibumi Japanese reupholstered silks are woven in Kyoto on traditional, slow-running looms to achieve a unique and exceptional quality. Although reupholstered silk wasn't originally used for ties, the ancient Japanese capital boasts a long tradition and expertise in silk weaving for kimonos. Our supplier, Stile Kyoto, has specialized in luxury tie fabrics for decades. Known for their precision and superior craftsmanship, they are the perfect supplier for Shibumi. The fabric feels softer than our usual reupholstered silk, yet the weave is dense and by no means thin. This results in a very elegant drape and a tie knot that folds easily. The colors are vibrant and have a wonderful depth – this reupholstered silk is truly the finest.
