Herbst naht: Die ersten Stücke, die uns schon jetzt begeistern

Autumn is coming: The first pieces that are already inspiring us

Every year in late summer, there comes a moment when the first autumn deliveries arrive, and I realize: it's starting again. The boxes aren't fully unpacked yet, but a first glance already reveals the direction this autumn is taking. Clemens and I have looked through the entire order, and what emerges is not a loose collection of trends, but a surprisingly consistent approach. Harmonious color palettes, a clear line in silhouettes, and a few unique pieces that are already our favorites.

Two colors define autumn – and a surprise shade

For anyone who thinks autumn fashion needs to be loud to appear trendy, this collection offers reassurance: the vast majority of the new merchandise falls into just two color families. On one side, navy, and on the other, brown and earth tones like beige, taupe, camel, cognac, cream, greige, and khaki. Grey is merely an accent, black is always in style, and highlights in green and red are also featured this season.

For me, this is the best confirmation that timeless elegance never goes out of style. This autumn, you don't have to invest in trendy colors that you'll discard in two years. A dress in warm brown, pleated trousers, or a navy skirt are pieces that can be combined again and again, season after season.

Women's Fashion: The pieces we already love

As I look through the first women's deliveries, three categories particularly appeal to me this autumn: high-quality knitwear, trousers and skirts, and a few statement pieces that immediately give character to a look.

Knitwear as an everyday essential

Cashmere remains my material of choice when the weather gets cooler. I'm especially looking forward to the Sminfinity set, consisting of a cashmere short-sleeved sweater and a matching long cardigan – a duo that can be worn individually with a blazer or together for an elegant head-to-toe look. Additionally, the patterned sweaters from Incentive immediately add a personal touch to a rather simple autumn outfit, and the cardigans from Lisa Yang are, for me, among the most luxurious basics one can indulge in. Good cashmere knitwear is rarely cheap, but it lasts for seasons, not just weeks, and that's precisely why the investment is worthwhile.

Pleated trousers are back

After years of slim, sleek silhouettes, pleated trousers are making a comeback, and I'm thrilled about it. They sit higher, fall wider, and give the leg significantly more freedom of movement without appearing shapeless. The matching suit is also available.

Statement pieces with character

Some pieces need no grand explanation; they speak for themselves. The tweed blazer from The Extreme Collection is exactly such a piece – strong texture, clear contour, a true statement piece that instantly elevates even simple jeans. For trousers, I also recommend taking a look at the Rossi models, which have a particularly clean drape this autumn.

Men's Fashion: The shirt takes a backseat

At this point, Clemens takes over, because when it comes to the men's collection, he's the one who knows every detail.

"Classic shirts have practically disappeared from our new autumn order," explains Clemens. "Instead, we are deliberately focusing on long-sleeved polos, knitted polos, turtlenecks, and overshirts, including models in cashmere and camel." For him, this is the logical evolution of a style that has been in the air for a while: soft layers under a jacket instead of a shirt and tie. The turtleneck and knitted polo take on the role that the shirt once played, while the overshirt serves as a light jacket for transitional days.

Knitwear as the heart of the collection

Knitwear is by far the strongest product group in the entire men's collection, and the range is surprising: plain sweaters, cardigans, cable-knit sweaters, knitted polos, turtlenecks, chunky and lightweight knits, and fine ribbed knits. "Cable patterns and chunky knits make up a clear focus," says Clemens. "This clearly shows the direction: more texture, more volume, away from the smooth fine knits of past seasons." His tip for customers who only want to invest in one piece: a cardigan in brown or navy, which can be worn equally well with a shirt, turtleneck, or T-shirt, thus forming the basis for multiple looks.

Pleats are back for men too

For men too, higher-waisted, wider trousers are gaining traction: pleated trousers are almost as popular as chinos, complemented by flannel and corduroy trousers. "For a house with a classic orientation, this is a clear commitment," says Clemens. Flannel and corduroy perfectly match the texture-focused line in knitwear, so tops and bottoms consciously complement each other this season. And the color scheme also follows this line: brown and navy tones define the men's collection just as they do the women's.

Evening wear is already complete

A black tuxedo, a cream dinner jacket, a black velvet jacket, along with grosgrain and Barathea bow ties, a cummerbund, and several three-piece suits – supplemented by individual waistcoats. "This isn't a random assortment; it's a complete ready-to-wear black-tie capsule," says Clemens, and I can only agree. Those planning the festive season in December can seek advice now and don't have to wait until the last minute. My tip: The cream dinner jacket is a wonderful, more modern alternative to classic black, especially for celebrations that are not strictly formal.

The coat remains classic, not technical

In coats too, the collection deliberately opts for timeless forms instead of functional outdoor wear: ulsters, cabans, trench coats, reversible coats, leather jackets, and bomber jackets define the image. Quilted jackets, however, are an absolute exception in the assortment – a clear signal that the classic wool coat is the first choice again this autumn. If you're looking for a coat for many years, you should take a closer look at the ulster or the caban: both sit elegantly over suits and knitwear alike and truly age gracefully with proper care.

Our conclusion: shop smart now

What particularly excites me about this collection is its consistency. Instead of many fleeting trends, there is a clear direction. If you want to invest wisely this autumn, start with a good cashmere knit and pleated trousers – both pieces that can be endlessly re-combined for years to come.
