Made-to-Measure and Bespoke Tailoring in Düsseldorf

There are moments when off-the-rack clothing reaches its limits – however beautiful it may be. When the shoulder doesn't quite sit right, the sleeve is a touch too long, or you simply want to wear something truly unique.

Our collection is deliberately curated. For suits, jackets, and coats, we carry most of our brands exclusively – houses that not only deliver finished collections but can also individually adapt each piece in terms of cut, fit, and material. Because our partners work so closely with individual pieces, we go a step further with them and offer true bespoke tailoring.

This means: we don't just optimize an off-the-rack item. We create a unique garment – designed just for you. Whether it's about your personal taste or body measurements that never quite fit off-the-rack, it doesn't matter to us. What our house has stood for on Königsallee since 1946: time, craftsmanship, and a conversation that begins with a question – "What feeling should this piece evoke in you?"

Our made-to-measure program includes men's fashion: suits, jackets, coats, and shirts. For women and for everything beyond made-to-measure, we offer our personal style consultation.

Two Paths for Suits, Jackets, and Coats

For suits, jackets, and coats, we take two different approaches. With bespoke tailoring, a pattern is constructed from scratch specifically for you, with multiple intermediate fittings. With made-to-measure, a proven base cut is precisely adjusted to your measurements. We offer both paths – with two different houses that stand for exactly that.

Caruso – Made-to-Measure, from €1,900

With Caruso, we make the adjustments on a try-on garment directly in our store. Depending on the chosen model, your suit is created in half-canvas or full-canvas. The measurements are sent to Italy, where a custom pattern is created for you – which remains permanently stored and can be recalled and fine-tuned for every subsequent order. Thanks to Caruso's technical expertise, this is not limited to length or width: we also adjust the sleeve width, button height, or lapel inclination – details that off-the-rack cuts don't know: posture, shoulder line, balance. A made-to-measure tailor with this depth is rare to find.

Orazio Luciano – Bespoke, from €3,500

Orazio Luciano is a small, classic sartoria in Naples that places no limits on its customers' wishes. One hundred percent handmade goes into every piece, and even the construction – such as the canvas processing – does not follow fixed specifications, but rather your specific wishes. With bespoke, your pattern is created entirely from scratch, and multiple fittings are of course possible as desired – and this pattern also remains permanently stored for you and can be revisited for every subsequent order.

Each piece bears the signature of true Neapolitan tailoring artistry: the sleeve can be inserted as "spalla camicia" – like a shirt, with a slight shirring at the shoulder for a soft, natural shoulder line. For those who prefer it more structured, a classic shoulder line is also available. The breast pocket is classically boat-shaped (barchetta), and the buttonholes are handmade (asola a mano). The sleeve buttons are also real, functional sleeve vents instead of decorative buttons. The edge is double-stitched by hand (AMF), and in the lining, you decide how many inner pockets you want.

Which path is right depends less on which is "better" than on how much time, freedom, and depth of detail you desire for your piece: Caruso stands for precisely adapted ready-to-wear with Italian manufacturing depth, Orazio Luciano for a piece created exclusively for you from scratch.

Fabrics from the Best Weavers in Europe

Both houses use fabrics from the looms of Drapers, Fox Brothers, Loro Piana, Tallia di Delfino, Solbiati, Holland & Sherry, Ariston, and other renowned manufacturers for their pieces. We take our time to feel the fabrics, compare weights, and check the color in daylight.

Made-to-Measure Shirts – Two Signatures

For shirts, we work with two houses: E. Maffeis from Bergamo and 100 Hands. The difference from off-the-rack shirts is also evident in the technical details: the interlining in the collar and cuffs is not firmly glued, but loosely inserted. You decide how stiff the collar should be – or opt out of an interlining entirely. All buttons are mother-of-pearl, available in various colors and sizes. Side and sleeve seams are consistently French-stitched.

E. Maffeis, from approx. €420

From Bergamo, with the typical sartorial, clean look. When ordering, you choose between three levels of craftsmanship: entirely handmade, partially hand-stitched seams, or standard processing. A special detail is the sartorial collar: in the undercollar, a canvas insert ensures that the tie does not slip. Some of the buttons come from E. Maffeis's own patented development.

100 Hands, from €400

With 100 Hands, you also have the same three levels available – entirely handmade, partially handmade, or standard processing. The difference: even in a standard shirt, the collar and placket are fundamentally hand-stitched, which gives the shirt a slightly more relaxed, modern touch from the outset. 100 Hands also produces overjackets and overshirts as a more modern alternative to blazers, from €1,500.

How Your Bespoke Appointment Works

1. The Conversation

Before a single measurement is taken, we discuss the occasion, your daily life, your wardrobe. A suit for a law firm requires something different than one for a summer wedding.

2. Fabric Selection

Our tailors bring the fabric books of the great Italian and English clothiers. This step takes the most time – more than taking measurements itself.

3. Taking Measurements

With Caruso, using a try-on garment; with Orazio Luciano, in the classic construction of a new pattern. Plan about an hour for your appointment.

4. Production in Italy

Your piece is created by your chosen house – with Caruso, depending on the model, in half-canvas or full-canvas; with Orazio Luciano, in pure Neapolitan handcraft, optionally with spalla camicia, with a barchetta pocket and handmade buttonholes, entirely without fixed construction guidelines.

5. Fitting at Our Store

After about six weeks, your piece arrives at our Düsseldorf store. During the fitting, we make final adjustments – until everything fits perfectly.
