Personal Style Consultation and Private Shopping in Düsseldorf
What Personal Style Consultation Actually Means
Style consultation is often confused with a sales pitch. With us, it's the opposite. It doesn't start with a product, but with a question: What is this piece actually for? For what daily life, what occasion, what version of oneself someone is currently embodying or wishes to become.
We listen first. We ask about their profession, about the trip for which something is needed, sometimes even about what has been hanging in the closet for a long time and never really been worn. Only then do we talk about individual pieces.
This is what differentiates consultation from sales. A good piece must fit what someone already owns and lives, not the other way around. That's why many of our customers bring favorite pieces from home. A jacket that has worked for years. A coat they hold onto. We place them next to the new items, compare colors in the light of our store, and check how fabrics interact. This creates a wardrobe, not just a single item. And we consciously advise across brands, from 'S Max Mara to Odeeh to Santoni, because the right choice rarely depends on a single brand.

Private Shopping: When You Want the Store to Yourself
Sometimes, advice during regular business hours isn't enough. For a wedding, for example, when time is short and the decision is important. Or simply because someone wants to try things on in peace, without scrutiny, without rush. That's what Private Shopping is for.
A brief preliminary discussion is sufficient, by phone or in person. We talk about the occasion, sizes, pieces already owned, and what's still missing. How long the appointment itself lasts depends entirely on you. Some know exactly what they're looking for, others take more time to try on and compare. Booking a few days in advance is usually enough.
The preliminary discussion leads to a pre-selection. When you arrive, it's ready, neatly sorted, with time for each individual piece. You try things on, we observe how something hangs and fits, how it feels when you move. The appointment is non-binding. In the end, you alone decide what comes with you and what stays.
Consultation by Patricia Wirschke
Patricia Wirschke provides personal consultations, with a special eye for women's fashion, color and style combinations, and the question of what truly suits a person and their everyday life. She also shares this experience through our social media channels, where she regularly offers insights into trends, combinations, and her view on fashion.
If you wish for a private shopping appointment with Patricia personally, you can indicate this when requesting an appointment. As her time for personal consultations is limited, we recommend a bit more lead time for these than for a regular appointment.
How to Prepare for Your Appointment
Good advice begins even before you walk through the door. A few photos of the wardrobe you wish to complement help us think about colors and cuts before the first piece is in hand. If you already know the occasion for which something is needed, for a June wedding, a new position starting in autumn, feel free to tell us in advance. And if you're unsure, you don't need to prepare anything at all. That's exactly what the preliminary discussion is for.
If possible, bring a piece that works for you. A shoe, a pair of trousers, a blazer. Nothing explains your style faster than what you already wear.

For What Occasions a Consultation Is Worthwhile
The New Business Wardrobe
Those who change jobs or take on more responsibility often realize first that their existing wardrobe no longer fits, not in cut, but in statement. Here, an outside perspective helps, one that doesn't just look for a single piece, but develops a coherent image for the new role. Often, two or three well-chosen combinations that can be interchanged are more effective than a completely new closet.
Weddings and Occasion Wear
A single evening that needs to be perfect, from the first hour to the last. We consider details that are rarely thought of alone: the weather outside, the location, how a fabric still feels after eight hours, whether a shoe is still comfortable after the third dance. If necessary, we also involve our Made-to-Measure Days here if a suit truly needs to fit from the ground up.
Long-Term Style Development
Some come without a specific occasion, simply with the desire to further develop their personal style over time. This is also a form of consultation. It requires patience and multiple appointments, not a single perfect purchase. We are happy to accompany this over seasons, because style rarely develops in one appointment, but in many small decisions thereafter.
For gentlemen, our Made-to-Measure Days with Italian master tailors complement the offering with suits created according to individual measurements, not off-the-rack sizes.

Consultation with Memory: What 80 Years of Family History Make Possible
Many of our customers have been with us for years, some for generations. We know which color didn't work three years ago and why. We remember the occasion for which a certain piece was bought, and how often it has been worn since. That is the difference between a sale and a consultation that has grown over decades.
This memory doesn't develop overnight. It takes time, honest conversations, and sometimes the courage to advise against a purchase if a piece doesn't really fit. Since 1946, our house on Steinstraße has been a place where exactly that applies: listening, being honest, thinking along. Even when the honest answer is not the easiest. Three generations of a family have run this house, and with each generation something has been added, but this principle has never disappeared.
